ON THIS EPISODE’S MASTERMIND HOT SEAT: LINDSAY PADILLA

ABOUT LINDSAY: Dr. Lindsay Padilla is the ex-professor-turned-entrepreneur behind Build a Better Beta, an online program that helps influential experts release courses to their audiences quickly and easily, so they can focus on their teaching. The Better Beta Framework was born out of her tenure-track years teaching adults online at a community college and the ridiculous amount of learning she’s done in all things education. With this unique background, she is also the rambunctious host of the Academics Mean Business Podcast and Community, which shares the journeys of other academics who have made the leap into entrepreneurship.

LINDSAY’S MASTERMIND HOT SEAT TOPIC: How do I grow my audience for both business ventures?

IT’S IMPORTANT TO LINDSAY BECAUSE: The academics mean business is a movement. That is where I will be dedicating 100% of my time eventually. But it’s about making that transition (because the other is not financially viable at the moment).

HERE’S WHAT LINDSAY HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE MASTERMIND EXPERIENCE + PROGRESS SINCE BEING IN THE HOT SEAT:

“Hi Everyone, Dr. Lindsay Padilla here. I just wanted to check in and give you guys the update about my experience on the Entrepreneur Mastermind Show and where I am now. I run a business that does course creation and when I was on the call I was about to launch my signature program which is called Build a Better Beta.

My question was about really transitioning and having two different niches and wanting to focus on helping academics do what I did and what’s been funny, looking back, having to record this is, I didn’t implement the super easy task that I was supposed to implement. Which involved adding a little blip on my podcast and also being more intentional about who I interviewed on my podcast called Academics Mean Business.

But, what did come as a result of this interview and this conversation that we had on this mastermind is that I actually launched the beta program and had a lot of teachers and academics participate.

And so, if you listen to the episode, you’ll hear about the feedback that I’m getting is about how my future people, these academics, are probably going want to build a course. And sure enough, when I did my launch there were all these teachers and academics in the audience.

So I am and have been, speaking to this audience and I will just drill down.

If you want to come and hang out with me I’d love it if you subscribed to my podcast. Or if you know anyone who’s an academic and who is starting or wants to start a business that would be amazing, and I’m also hanging out a lot on Instagram right now. Just follow me @LindsayMPadilla. All right, thank you.”
