HERE’S WHAT BRADEN HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE MASTERMIND EXPERIENCE + PROGRESS SINCE BEING IN THE HOT SEAT:
We talked about how I could clarify my marketing message in my hot seat. I am an attorney for small business creatives, and I also do tax consulting. So, I wanted to clarify that I am not a CPA, but I do do a lot of the things that CPAs do. I also just wanted to clarify how to speak better to my target audience.
Sara said, during the podcast, that I am the “tax and legal guy for small business creatives,” and I really like that language.
One actionable thing I took away was to incorporate that right at the top of my website. I took away part of my tagline that I had, which was “personalized service for personalized goals,” on a banner on my website, bradendrakelaw.com, and I changed that to “the legal and tax guy for creativepreneurs.”
Now, when people go to my website, they see, right away, what it is that I do and who I help. I thought that was a really good tip.
I also really enjoyed my hot seat because, in addition to getting some actionable takeaways that I could immediately incorporate into my website and messaging, I also got a lot of validation on the types of things I’m trying to do that are outside of the norm for my industry, so that was really key as well.
I worked on my messaging a lot over and I am really looking forward to what I have happening in this new year.
If you want to check out what I have going on, you can find my main website, bradendrakelaw.com, my law firm. I also have creativepreneur.community, which is where I host my workshops, blogs, online products like my contract template store, and all that kind of stuff.
And I also would love it if you’d connect with me on Instagram. My handle is @bradenadamdrake. Feel free to shoot me a DM. I’d love to chat and get to know you a little bit better.
It was so great being on Mastermind Show!

Jodi Brandon is a 20-year veteran of the publishing industry, and I’m bringing my knowledge of it to the online business world. My passion is helping creative business owners, bloggers, and solopreneurs speak the language of publishing, either through a traditional publisher or via self-publishing. When she’s not diagramming sentences or working with clients, you can find her on the deck reading a new release on her Kindle, traveling with her husband or girlfriends, volunteering in her community, or finding new ways of being the world’s #1 aunt.
